To be able to service all of our customers we have invested in the best two machines in the industry. The Fecon FTX150, shown above, can handle the largest jobs quickly and efficiently. With steel tracks it can go just about anywhere on any terrain. The RT-120, shown below, is smaller and versatile with rubber tracks. We are able to customize every job for the best results.
What We Do!
In the video below you can see what it looks like when equipment like ours cleans out and beautifies the forest. This allows the forest to be healthier and grow better. Our customers tell us that they love it. They say that we turned their thick brushy forest into a beautiful park!
If you would like your land to be more usable, beautiful and to be less of a fire risk, give us a call today. We would be happy to come out and look your land over and give you an estimate.
At New Mountain Forestry we have invested in the best equipment to get the job done quickly, saving you money and precious time. We use the Fecon FTX150, think of it as the Rolls Royce of heavy-duty forestry equipment. After walking your property with you and analyzing your needs, we get to work. The Fecon cuts down selected trees and bushes in a matter of seconds and turns them into mulch, which is then spread out over the forest floor.
By clearing the forest floor of overgrown bushes and unhealthy trees and returning them to the soil, we’re creating a healthier environment for you and the remaining trees. In just a few days, depending on your acreage and terrain, we will transform your forest into a park-like atmosphere, creating more space for you and your family to enjoy.
Benefits of Beautification
If you have acreage, chances are there are a few places you don’t even dare to walk through. Too many bushes, too many sharp branches scraping your legs, downright too much work! Imagine if you could take a stroll through all 5, 10, or 50 acres of your land like it’s a walk in the park. We can make that happen!
Clearing unhealthy trees and vegetation and returning them to the soil as mulch, creates a park-like atmosphere. By having more usable space on your land, you open up more opportunities for outdoor activities such a picnicking, cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, walking, riding ATVs, UTV’s, dirt bikes, and more.
Reducing Fire Danger
Reducing the risk of wildfires is important now more than ever. Living in the Inland Northwest, you know all about the thick wildfire smoke blanketing our region every summer and fall. In 2020, wildfires destroyed small towns and left hundreds of people without a home. In fact, 2020 marks the worst fire season ever recorded for Washington, Oregon, and California.
Fire danger is real. However, you can reduce the risk of wildfire to your property by properly managing your land. Wildfires need fuel to spread and burn. Dead or weak trees, ground vegetation, bushes, and pine needles, are all good examples of wildfire fuels. These fuels create a lot of heat and its that heat combined with the flames that can destroy the healthy trees.
By removing any excess fuels on the forest floor and limbing trees, you drastically reduce the chances of a fire spreading and moving onto your neighbor’s house. This is also referred to as creating defensible space.
When controlled, wildfires play an important part in the overall health of a forest. However, when a fire is out of control and threatening homes and lives, it’s a different story. The good news is you have an opportunity to create that defensible space, improve the health of your land, and beautify your acreage, well before there’s a threat of a wildfire.
